What to Put In Mind While Choosing a Pressure Washing Firm

After you decide to hire a pressure washing firm, whether for your business or your house, it is important to know what to look for and what to put in mind while you are choosing a service provider. This must be done with care because hiring a low quality service provider means that you will get poor service that will certainly not clean your house or business 100%. On top of that, it might end up damaging your furniture or walls because these pressure washers must be handled carefully or they can end up causing irreparable damage.

In order to guarantee the quality of the cleaning and the safety of your property, you will have to put some things in mind. The first thing is the experience of the firm. You have to know how long have this firm been offering its services. You can know that by contacting the firm and asking them. You also have to know about the quality of their service, you can do that by checking their portfolio of previous work as well as contacting previous customers and asking them for feedback.

Cleaning Concrete and Driveways With Pressure Washing

Can a commercial pressure washing solution really clean your concrete sidewalk, driveway, or other hard surfaces that are permeated with oil, grease, and debris stains?

Whether you run a Bay Area business and your shop’s sidewalk looks like the floor of a Jiffy Lube, or you’re a homeowner who’s disgusted by the unsightly stains on your driveway, take heart. You CAN get the stains out!

Pressure washing alternatives include: washing and rinsing with detergent; using turbo nozzles to speed up cleaning time; and applying chemical surface cleaners. But these processes might not be effective/ideal. Factors can make the job too tough for these “weaker” methods, such as:

  • The size and intensity of the stain. (The bigger and larger the stain, the harder it can be to clean);
  • The chemical composition of the stain;
  • The porosity of the concrete or driveway;
  • The depth the stain has reached into the material;
  • The length of time the stain has had to set;
  • The cleaning methods that have already been tried. (Some uneducated attempts to clean can actually make the situation worse by discoloring the concrete/driveway, scraping it, or even adding to the stain itself).

Power Washing A House That Got Egged

Last week we got a call from a homeowner needing power washing to remove egg stains from her house.

These are the kind of calls we usually get in the summer. Like calls for graffiti removal, these incidents are much more common when the schools are closed.

We don’t know if her house was egged intentionally or just a random act from children running loose. But since we were in a heat wave with temperatures reaching above 90 degreees, she wanted to get it off as soon as possible before the sun baked it hard.

Pressure Washing Your Sidewalk and Driveway

Chicago neighbors, if you’re anything like me, you are always looking for opportunities to use a pressure washer.  It’s thrilling to handle that much horsepower.  It’s also a very effective cleaning agent.  In short, it’s not a bad way to spend an afternoon.  So, what do you have that needs cleaning? May we recommend your porous sidewalks, driveway, and garage floor?  By this time, your sidewalk and driveway has probably seen a lot of traffic; bicycles, dogs, strollers, marathon trainers, etc. All of that action leaves behind dirt and grime, and it has had plenty of time to accumulate.  A good pressure wash will eliminate all of that in minutes, and improve the look and longevity of your walk and driveways.

Despite the fact that pressure washing can practically be considered recreational, very few people actually own a pressure washer.  No worries, they can be rented very affordably from any home improvement store.  Do read the instructions thoroughly and proceed with caution.  Getting carried away can cause bodily harm and property damage, big time.  And while we’re on the subject, it’s unwise to let children operate the pressure washer. Don’t even think about any playful spraying – it will be tempting – but, it is quite dangerous to people and animals.

Pressure Washing: How to Remove Graffiti

Graffiti can be a nightmare, especially if it’s on your business building or your home. Soap and water, even applied with some elbow grease, are just no match for removing graffiti. Some people try to repaint the tagged surface. Though this may be a successful approach for some surfaces, it doesn’t work for all. For example, painting over a brick surface that is covered in graffiti is just not going to cut it.

This is where the pressure washing option comes in. Sometimes paint can be loosened and lifted off a surface just by using a pressure washer (which can emit water at 300 times the power of a standard garden hose). Graffiti removal may be more challenging for traditional pressure washing, but no worries, graffiti removal service providers use a specially created eco-friendly cleaning agent along with pressure washing to get the job done. It’s best if you get in contact with a pressure washing company as they have the technology and cleaning formulas to remove even the most difficult of graffiti cases.

Everything You Need to Know About Pressure Washers

Summer is great, but it’s dirty. Before you know it, mud, pollen, mildew, dried grass clippings, and the greasy film from air pollution can cover everything in sight. The pressure washer makes short work of tough cleaning jobs and solves other problems such as removing flaking or blistered paint.

While you might have some intuitive sense for how much size and power you require from a tool like a lawnmower, most homeowners are less familiar with pressure washers. So, how much oomph do you really need?

Advantages of Hiring a Professional Pressure Washer

You can buy a pressure washer just about anywhere. Walmart even sells them. But just because they’re available doesn’t necessarily mean you have to get one. Besides, when you hire a pro, that expert already comes with his own toys.

Finding the Goldilocks spot is a balancing act. Too little pressure and you’re only going compact the grime deeper into the grains of wood. Too much pressure causes etching in the surface. A pro knows when it’s not too hot and not too cold. They know when everything’s just right.
